Phyto was created in 1969 by Patrick Alès. His passion? Hair and plants! The inventor of hair brushing in 1964 realised that if plants have cosmetic properties beneficial to the skin, they must also apply to hair, and with that he used science to invent ‘phytothérathrie’, plant-based hair care.
In 1968, he released the first day cream for hair: Phyto 7. Then followed an anti-frizz jelly, then a hair oil that protects hair from the harmful effects of the sun, then a hairspray, then a dietary supplement for the hair...
