The appearance of acne is provoked by two principal elements: excessive sebum production by the skin and the influence of a bacteria: Propionibacterium acnes. Sex hormones also contribute to acne processes (the production of sebum is hormone-dependent). Inflammatory, infectious or hormonal, acne must be treated with specially adapted products.
