Look after your dental apparatus!
Dental apparatus such as removable dental prosthesis, otherwise known as dentures, replace all or some of your natural teeth. This dental prosthesis deserves the same attention as natural teeth, and, therefore, the respect of the strict rules of dental hygiene.
A removable dental prosthesis should not ever damage the gums and must not move. Therefore, they must be properly maintained with specific products (interior and exterior cleaning after each meal) and make sure it is securely fastened.
Discover in this category all the necessary products for cleaning your dentures and keeping them in place.
Even though dentures are not prone to cavities, plaque and tartar can develop and fester bacteria. Food debris can also get trapped in the denture and become a source of problems.
To avoid this, after each meal, rinse your denture then brush it with a silk swab or a soft toothbrush specially designed for dentures (to avoid damaging the resin). Scrub on both sides, outer and inner, to remove all food debris.
Finish the cleaning of your dentures by using a solution specially adapted to cleaning removable dentures. To acheive this, leave your denture to soak for 15 minutes in an 'antiseptic cleansing bath'. Certain laboratories also offer effervescents which dissolve in a glass of water, disinfect the denture and get rid of lingering bad odeurs.
Finally, do not forget to take out your denture during the night, and to leave it to soack in a cleaning solution.
In addition, the use of a denture fixative, in a cream or powder form, helps you to feel more confident and, above all, increase chewing stregth.
The fixing cream for dental apparatus improves the hold and adjustment of the denture.
The dental adhesive pads also guarantee optimal contact between the gums and the lower denture: also, to improve the stability of the denture, it forms a sort of protective cushion between the hard denture material and the sensitive mucous membrane of the gum and palate.
