What should you do in the even of a burn? How can you sooth a burn? What should you use on the burn? When you burn yourself, there are a number of questions we ask ourselves. The most important thing is to adopt good habits. Here are several rules to bear in mind to help you to take care of a burn yourself:
- put out the fire to soothe the pain,
- hold the burn under warm or cold water for around 15 minutes,
- disinfect with an antiseptic lotion,
- never try to remove clothes that are stuck to the burn, do not apply ice cubes, butter or oil,
- do not burst blisters,
- if you can, remove watches, rings and other jewellery which could impede blood circulation.
